Jimmy Taylor Cardoso started Cheltenham & Gloucester Gymnastics Club in 2020.
He has lived and worked in both Cheltenham & Gloucester for the past 7 years and is fulfilling his dream to open his own gymnastics club to serve the two towns he calls home.
Our club provides gymnastics classes for people of all abilities. We believe gymnastics is the perfect sport for children (and adults!) to stay active and it is our mission to provide a fun
and friendly place for people to do just that.

ABOUT OUR HEAD COACH
Jimmy Taylor has been coaching gymnastics for over 10 years, the last 4 at a local club. Originally from Brazil, he started his career as a competitive gymnast winning gold medals at the Brazilian Aerobic Championships in 2011 & 2012 and silver medals at the South American Aerobic Championships, also in 2011 & 2012. This secured him a space at the ANAC International Aerobic Championships in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, due to a lack of sports funding, he was unable to compete and instead
moved to the UK to continue his coaching career.
As a coach, Jimmy's gymnasts have won regional and state titles in Artistic Gymnastics and
national and continental titles in Aerobic Gymnastics. More recently, he coached two gymnasts
who are now on the Gloucestershire Development Squad. His personal aim for the club is to
make sure gymnasts have the support needed to achieve at a high level.
ABOUT OUR CLASSES
We run recreational classes for children aged 3-18 as an introduction to gymnastics. These classes are designed to introduce you to the fundamental elements of gymnastics before working towards more difficult skills.
Additionally, we run Parent & Child classes. These classes offer young children the opportunity to explore their
surroundings in a safe and engaging atmosphere. Children improve their motor function and balance skills
through a variety of exercises using soft play and pre-school equipment.
Alongside our recreational programme we also have elite squads. These are designed for gymnasts who show
promise and wish to work towards participating in high-level competitions. Squads will be selected by our head coach and all recreational gymnasts will be offered the opportunity to try out when a space becomes available.
ABOUT OUR VENUE
Our newly refurbished 7,500 square foot facility is located at Unit 5, Chancel Close, Gloucester, GL4 3SN.
It is a short car ride from Cheltenham and is close to the M5 motorway allowing easy access from Stroud & Tewkesbury.
We have invested in state-of-the-art, Olympic standard equipment, supplied by Gymnova and Tumbl-Trak, which includes;
